About the Guest Artists

Philippe Routhier
Singer-songwriter Philippe Routhier, originally from Montréal’s Saint-Léonard neighbourhood, describes his music as “feel-good pop and hopeful folk.” Influenced by artists such as Jean Leloup and Les Colocs, he has developed a vibrant, sunny musical universe filled with offbeat humour. His songs move between playful storytelling and thoughtful reflections on the world around us.

Throughout his career, Philippe has received several distinctions, including the CKOI Coup de cœur Award in 2014 and La Fabrique culturelle Award at the Le Tremplin de Dégelis competition in 2016. He was also a semifinalist in the Ma première Place des Arts competition in 2015.

His album Pour qu’il fasse beau, released in August 2020, reached the Top 10 on SiriusXM’s ICI Musique Chansons chart, while his single J’rêvais à elle received airplay on several Quebec radio stations.

Deeply involved in his community, Philippe has developed numerous initiatives highlighting the positive impact of music, particularly among children, seniors, and audiences with special needs. Since 2017, he has also organized Cabaret Routhier, a musical gathering that brings emerging and established artists together.

Through his songs, Philippe hopes above all to spread joy, create meaningful connections, and brighten people’s lives, one note at a time.

Alex Paquette
Singer-songwriter Alex Paquette creates festive and socially conscious music that blends cultures and musical influences. His artistic universe brings together the northern forests and southern rhythms, combining the French language of Quebec with universal messages.

Inspired by Les Colocs, Manu Chao, The Skatalites, and Jean Leloup, he has developed a colourful, engaging, and deeply human musical identity.

With more than 450 concerts performed with his two bands, Alex has appeared on numerous stages in Canada and internationally, including approximately ten tours across Europe and South America.

For this edition of Les découvertes, he will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Tim S. Savard for an acoustic performance of his songs. This special format offers audiences an opportunity to discover his repertoire in a more intimate setting while preserving the energy and spontaneity that define his music.
